Coca Cola Salesman

Disappointed salesman of Coca Cola returns from his Middle East ( Dubai ) assignment.

A friend asked, “Why weren’t you successful with the Arabs?”

The salesman explained, “When I got posted in Dubai , I was very confident that I will make a good sales pitch as Cola is virtually unknown there. But, I had a problem; I didn’t know to speak Arabic. So, I planned to convey the message through 3 posters. First poster: a man crawling through the hot desert sand, totally exhausted and fainting. Second, the man is drinking our Cola and third, our man is now totally refreshed. Then these posters were pasted all over the place.”

“That should have worked,” said the friend.

The salesman replied, “Well, not only did I not speak Arabic, I also didn’t realize that Arabs read from right to left…”

Heaven or Hell?

Bill Gates died in a car accident. He found himself in Purgatory being
sized up by God…

“Well, Bill, I’m really confused on this call. I’m not sure whether to send you to Heaven or Hell. After all, you enormously helped society by putting a computer in almost every home in the world and yet you created that ghastly Windows 95. I’m going to do something I’ve never done before. In your case, I’m going to let you decide where you want to go!”

Bill replied, “Well, thanks, God. What’s the difference between the two?”

God said, “I’m willing to let you visit both places briefly if it will help you make a decision.” “Fine, but where should I go first?” God said, “I’m going to leave that up to you.” Bill said, “OK, then, let’s try Hell first.” So Bill went to Hell.

It was a beautiful, clean, sandy beach with clear waters. There were thousands of beautiful women running around, playing in the water, laughing and frolicking about. The sun was shining and the temperature was perfect. Bill was very pleased. “This is great!” he told God, “If this is Hell, I REALLY want to see Heaven!” “Fine,” said God and off they went.

Heaven was a high place in the clouds, with angels drifting about playing harps and singing. It was nice but not as enticing as Hell. Bill thought for a quick minute and rendered his decision. “Hmm, I think I prefer Hell” he told God. “Fine,” retorted God, “as you desire.” So Bill Gates went to Hell.

Two weeks later, God decided to check up on the late billionaire to see
how he was doing in Hell. When God arrived in Hell, he found Bill shackled to a wall, screaming amongst the hot flames in a dark cave. He was being burned and tortured by demons. “How’s everything going, Bill?” God asked.

Bill responded – his voice full of anguish and disappointment, “This is awful, this is not what I expected. I can’t believe this happened. What happened to that other place with the beaches and the beautiful women playing in the water?”

God says, “That was the screen saver“.

Learn To Love

Learn to love the people who are with you at present. Forget the people in the past and thank them for hurting you, which led you to love the people you have right now.

When you love someone, you’ll do crazy things you can’t explain, you’ll deny the truth and believe in lies. When you love someone, you sacrifice, give everything you’ve got and don’t think twice. You risk it all no matter what.

Everything in life is temporary because everything changes. That is why it takes courage to love, knowing it might end anytime…having faith will make it last.

Friends are not the one who laugh when you laugh and cry when you cry. They are the ones who make you laugh and stop you from crying.

Love is the feeling we fall in and out of, and every time we fall off, we learn to hold on tighter…hoping that next time, we may never have to let go.

They say when love knocks at your door, open it. But do you know that sometimes love enters through the back door and before you begin to notice it, it’s on it’s way out.

Have you ever loved only to let it go?..
Have you ever hated someone and loved him so?..
Have you ever missed someone so bad it made you cry?..
Have you ever seen someone left alone without knowing why? ..

True: Lucky is the man who wins the first love of a woman but luckier is the woman who wins the last love of a man.

Love is not the right word to say when you feel guilty nor the right word to say when you like a person but love really matters when we share our thoughts, our minds, and our hearts…

Life has a way of changing things but not the joy that friendship brings, for friendship is like the shining moon, makes each night a brighter one.

Love is not for beauty or color of the skin, but for a heart that is loyal within, for beauty fades and the skin would grow old but a heart that is loyal will never turn cold.

If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

A love is easy to feel, so hard to explain; so easy to get, so hard to let go; so easy to spell, so hard to define…and yet everyone is still taking the risk.

That’s love !

We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in love in mutual weirdness and call it LOVE! Never be afraid to fall in love. It may hurt a lot, it may give you aches and pain, but if you don’t follow your heart; in the end you will cry even more for not giving love a chance.

Don’t run ahead of God. Let Him direct your steps. He has plans and He has His time. God’s clock is never one minute early nor one minute late. It always strikes right on time.

If someone loves you, love them back not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you have never seen or felt without them.

The past is meant to be used as a tool for the future. Bad experiences indeed make you bitter but the lessons learned should make you better.

On letting go: it hurts to see someone you love happy with somebody else; but wouldn’t it hurt you more to see that person unhappy…with you? When you find arms that will hold you at your weakest, eyes that will see you at your ugliest, lips that will kiss you in both instances, and a heart that will love you at your worst, then you have found true love.

Someday, someone might come into your life and love you in a way you always wanted.

If your someday was yesterday.. LEARN
If your someday is tomorrow.. HOPE
If your someday is today.. CHERISH.

Message: Learn to love the people who are with you at present.

That is why it takes courage to love, knowing it might end anytime…having faith will make it last.”

The Meaning of a Friend Poem

Someone turned to me and asked
"How many friends have you?"
Why 10 or 20 friends I believe
And began to named a few...

A blessed one you are
To have so many friends
But think of what you're saying...
A friend is just not someone
To whom you say "Hello"

A friend is a tender shoulder
On which to softly cry
A well to pour your troubles down
And raise your spirits high

A friend is a hand to pull you up
From darkness and despair...
When all your other "so called" friends
Have helped to put you there

A true friend is an ally
Who can't be moved or bought
A voice to keep your name alive
When others have forgot

But most of all a friend has a true heart
For from the hearts of friends
There comes the greatest love of all!

So think about all this
For every word is true
And once again answer please...
How many friends have you?

After much thought I answered
I really only have just one
"It's You!"

A Friend Is Always Special
Because Friends Love You
Just Because You're You!

True story from IIT Bombay ...Batch 1992-96

This is for everyone whose parents are still around. Make sure that its not too late

A very beautiful story with an advice...

A simple man tells how his booking an air ticket for his father, his first flight, brought emotions and made him realize that
how much we all take for granted when it comes to our parents.

My parents left for our native place on Thursday and we went to the airport to see them off. In fact, my father had never traveled by air before, so I just took this opportunity to make him experience the same. In spite of being asked to book tickets by train, I got them tickets on Lufthansa.

The moment I handed over the tickets to him, he was surprised to see that I had booked them by air. The excitement was very apparent on his face, waiting for the time of travel. Just like a school boy, he was preparing himself on that day and we all went to the airport, right from using the trolley for his luggage, the baggage check-in and asking for window seat and waiting restlessly for the security check-in to happen.

He was thoroughly enjoying himself and I, too, was overcome with joy watching him experience all these things.

As they were about to go in for the security check-in, he walked up to me with tears in his eyes and thanked me.

He became very emotional and it was not as if I had done something great but the fact that this meant a great deal to him.

When he said thanks, I told him there was no need to thank me.

But later, thinking about the entire incident, I looked back at my life.

As a child how many dreams our parents have made come true. Without understanding the financial situation, we ask for football, dresses, toys, outings, etc. Irrespective of their affordability, they have satisfied to all our needs. Did we ever think about the sacrifices they had to make to accommodate many of our wishes?

Did we ever say thanks for all that they have done for us?

Same way, today when it comes to our children, we always think that we should put them in a good school. Regardless of the amount of donation, we will ensure that we will have to give the child the best, theme parks, toys, etc. But we tend to forget that our parents have sacrificed a lot for our sake to see us happy, so it is our responsibility to ensure that their dreams are realized and what they failed to see when they were young, it is our responsibility to ensure that they experience all those and their life is complete.

Many times, when my parents had asked me some questions, I have actually answered back without patience. When my daughter asks me something, I have been very polite in answering. Now I realize how they would have felt at those moments.

Let us realize that old age is a second childhood and just as we take care of our children , the same attention and same care need to be given to our parents and elders.

Rather than my dad saying thank you to me, I would want to say sorry for making him wait so long for this small dream.

I do realize how much he has sacrificed for my sake and I will do my best to give the best possible attention to all their wishes. Just because they are old does not mean that they will have to give up everything and keep sacrificing for their grandchildren also. They have wishes, too.

Let's Take care of our parents.

Learn To Focus On Solutions Not On Problems

When NASA began the launch of astronauts into space, they found out that the pens wouldn't work at zero gravity (ink won't flow down to the writing surface).
To solve this problem, it took them one decade and $12 million. They developed a pen that worked at zero gravity, upside down, underwater, in practically any surface including crystal and in a temperature range from below freezing to over 300 degrees C.

And what did the Russians do...??
They used a pencil.

Moral

Always look for simple solutions. Devise the simplest possible solution that solves the problems :-).

LEARN TO FOCUS ON SOLUTIONS NOT ON PROBLEMS.

The One Flaw In Women

By the time the Lord made woman. He was into his sixth day of working overtime. An angel appeared and said, ‘Why are you spending so much time on this one?

And the Lord answered, ‘Have you seen my spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable and able to run on diet coke and leftovers, have a lap that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart-and she will do everything with only two hands.’

The angel was astounded at the requirements. ‘Only two hands!? No way! And that’s just on the standard model? That’s too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish.’

‘But I won’t, ‘ the Lord protested. ‘I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days.’

The angel moved closer and touched the woman. ‘But you have made her so soft, Lord.’

‘She is soft,’ the Lord agreed, ‘but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish.’

‘Will she be able to think? ‘, asked the angel.

The Lord replied, ‘Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate.’

The angel then noticed something, and reaching out, touched the woman’s cheek. ‘Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one.’

‘That’s not a leak,’ the Lord corrected, ‘that’s a tear!’

‘What’s the tear for?’ the angel asked.

The Lord said, ‘The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief and her pride.’

The angel was impressed. ‘You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything! Woman is truly amazing.’

And she is!

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don’t take ‘no’ for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE TINY FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Ask your friends and relatives to remind them just how amazing they are.

Does Love Need A Reason?

Does Love Need A Reason?

Some people never understand. One a lady when having a conversation with her lover.

Lady: Why do you like me? Why do you love me?
Man: I can’t tell the reason but I really like you.
Lady: You can’t even tell me the reason. How can you say you like me? How can you say you love me?
Man: I really don’t know the reason but I can prove that I love you.
Lady: Proof? No! I want you to tell me the reason. My friend’s boyfriend can tell her why he loves her but not you!
Man: Okay, Okay! Hmmm, because you are beautiful, because your voice is sweet, because you are caring, because you are loving, because you are thoughtful, because of your smile, because of your every movement.

The lady felt very satisfied with the man’s answer. Unfortunately, A few days later the lady met with an accident and went in coma. The guy then placed a letter by her side. Here is the content of the letter:

Darling, because of your sweet voice I loved you..
Now can you talk?No!
Therefore I cannot love you….

Because of your care and concern I liked you…
Now that you cannot show them,
therefore I cannot love you..

Because of your smile because of your every movement I loved you..
Now can you smile? Now can you move?.. no!
therefore I cannot love you..

If love needs a reason, like now,
there is no reason for me to love you anymore.

Does LOVE need a reason?

NO, Therefore,
I still love you…

True love never dies for it is lust that fades away. Love bonds for a lifetime lust just pushes away.

Immature love says: “I love you because I need You.”
Mature love says: “I need you because I love you.”

Don’t give up your goodness.

There was this Hindu who saw a scorpion floundering around in the water. He decided to save it by stretching out his finger, but the scorpion stung him. The man still tried to get the scorpion out of the water, but the scorpion stung him again.

A man nearby told him to stop saving the scorpion that kept stinging him.

But the Hindu said: “It is the nature of the scorpion to sting. It is my nature to love. Why should I give up my nature to love just because it is the nature of the scorpion to sting?”

Don’t give up loving.
Don’t give up your goodness.
Even if people around you sting.

THINGS ARE NOT ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM

Two travelling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guestroom. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, "Things aren't always what they seem."

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field? The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.

"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied. "When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn?t find it."

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You might not know it until some time later...

Think Differently

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said:

I AM BLIND. PLEASE HELP.

There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy.

That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked: “Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?”

The man said, “I only wrote the truth. I also wrote what you meant but in a different way. ”

What he had written was:

TODAY IS A BEAUTIFUL DAY
AND I CANNOT SEE IT.

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing? The first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign touched their hearts. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

So,

Think differently.

THERE IS ALWAYS A BETTER WAY!!

Had Columbus been married..............

If Columbus had been married he might have never discovered America.

Reasons:
"Where are you going"?
"With Whom"?
"When will you return"?
"To discover what"?
"Why only you"?
"What do I do, when you are not here?
"Why can't I come along"?
"I will wait for you at Dinner "
Most importantly: "Mere liye kya laoge"? (What will you get for me?)

Ticket please

A commuter on the train was looking for his ticket. He was searching with great frenzy, much to the amusement of the other passengers, who could see that he had the ticket in his mouth. The conductor snatched the paper and punched it.

Later, the commuter’s companion said, “I bet you feel pretty stupid sitting there looking everywhere for your ticket when it was right in your mouth.”

“Why stupid?” replied the commuter. “I was chewing the date off.”

BEING POSITIVE.. A WONDERFUL PERSPECTIVE

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip”?

“It was great, Dad.”

“Did you see how poor people live? The father asked.

“Oh yeah.” said the son.

“So tell me, what did you learn from the trip? Asked the father.

The Son answered:

“I saw that we have one dog and they had four.

We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our Garden and they have a creek that has no end.

We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.

Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.

We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.

We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.

We buy our food, but they grow theirs.

We have walls around our property to protect us; they have friends to protect them.

The boy’s father was speechless.

Then his son added. “Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.”
Isn’t perspective a wonderful thing?
Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don’t have.
