Ø Hell& Heaven: A samurai went to a Zen master Hakuin and requested him to tell him about heaven and hell. The master immediately started berating him. “What kind of samurai are you? You look like a beggar,” he shouted. He went on like this for a few minutes. The samurai became angry and unsheathed his sword. “Now open the gates of hell.” Hakuin said. In a flash the samurai understood. He sheathed his sword and humbly bowed before the master. “Now open the gates of heaven”, Hakuin said.
