Do Good

Over the years, I have developed a habit to note down motivational extracts from the books I read.  Some time back, I had noted an inspiring Love Song  by an anonymous writer from a self improvement book (perhaps it was ‘Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do’  by Robert H.Schuller).  Taking a clue from  a wonderful blog ‘I Love You’ by my iLander friend Alex Gomes, I am reproducing the poem for sharing with all of you:-
People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centred,
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives,
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies,
Succeed anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable,
 Be honest and frank anyway.
The good you do will be forgotten tomorrow,
Do good anyway.
The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shut down by the smallest people with the smallest minds,
Think big anyway.
People favour underdogs but follow only  top dogs,
Fight for some underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight
Build anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth,
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
