WILL THE ONE’S WHO ARE NO MORE?

Will the one's who are no more will have to return again?

It was one man's resolute rebellion against the imperialist forces that united a nation. What started as a single step of satyagrahaya became a memorable march of dandi movement. One man's commitments to see a consolidated India gave shape to the unified nation of today. One man's commitment to peace saw preservation and flourishing of Tibetan culture in India, and these illustrious people, all proud sons of the Indian soil faced many obstacles before their dreams took shape.

Mahatma Gandhi stripped him self bare, wearing nothing more than an average countryman. Sardar Patel discouraged favoritism and often went to jail for his freedom struggle. Jawaharlal Nehru had to face the betrayal of Chinese trust and the subsequent indo china war for granting refuge to the Tibetans.

If there is one thing common to all these legendary figures, it is the commitment to task, belief in what is good for the society and sheer drive to realize a goal for common good. Sadly the new corp. of leaders, politicians, bureaucrats, celebrities, sports persons and even common public are not exhibiting an ounce of the commitment seen in our forefathers.

There was a time when the credit of good leadership was a coveted asset for all politicians. But now there has risen a situation where no body wants to take the onus of leadership or be a mule in shouldering the burden of responsibility. if any proclamation is good, all parties will try to hog  the credit for influencing the good decision and if the situation gets awry they waste no time in mud slinging each other. Parliament session continues to be in suspended animation, pitched battles physically are fought with in the house, more like street gondas.
Important national decisions gather dust in the files. Babuism is at its height. New projects and welfare initiatives are launched to fill personnel coffers, benefits rarely trickle down to the needy regions and farmers. This stagnancy in top leadership has its trickle down effects in local administration; functionaries spend their entire time in discussions and deliberations without taking any concrete steps towards improving infrastructure or providing public conveniences. Instead of supplying water to farmers residing in dry areas, the water is being directed to beautify the bungalows and other upfront in the areas where chief ministers or ministers are residing.
Women are being sexually abused, harassed and raped. , poor people are being bro beaten; innocents and common people are no more safe. News's of loots, killings, rapes, murders are falling on deaf ears as the ministers concerned are unwilling to step down on moral grounds, instead of suspending the accused, they are being transferred to other lucrative posts and departments. State governments are mismanaging the funds and gross corruption prevails in various projects aimed at providing electricity and water to rural areas, public health and education of the backward section of the society.

When will another "one man" come? OR Will the one's who are no more will have to return again to see that their dreams get fulfilled the way they dreamt?
