1. Kim Ung-Yong: Attended University at age 4, Ph.D at age 15; World’s highest IQ
This Korean super-genius was born in 1962 and might just be the smartest guy alive today (he’s recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as having the highest IQ of anyone on the planet). Bythe age of four he was already able to read in Japanese, Korean, German, and English.
At his fifth birthday, he solved complicated differential and integral calculus problems. Later, on Japanese television, he demonstrated his proficiency in Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, German, English, Japanese, and Korean. Kim was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records under Highest IQ; the book estimated the boy’s score at over 210.
Kim was a guest student of physics at Hanyang University from the age of 3 until he was 6. At the age of 7 he was invited to America by NASA. He finished his university studies, eventually getting a Ph.D. in physics at Colorado State University before he was 15. In 1974, during his university studies, he began his research work at NASA and continued this work until his return to Korea in 1978 where he decided to switch from physics to civil engineering and eventually received a doctorate in that field. Kim was offered the chance to study at the most prestigious universities in Korea, but instead chose to attend a provincial university. As of 2007 he also serves as adjunct faculty at Chungbuk National University.
2. Gregory Smith: Nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize at age 12
Born in 1990, Gregory Smith could read at age two and had enrolled in university at 10. But genius is only one half of the Greg Smith story. When not voraciously learning, this young man travels the globe as a peace and children rights activist.
He is the founder of International Youth Advocates, an organization that promotes principles of peace and understanding among young people throughout the world. He has met with Bill Clinton and Mikhail Gorbachev and spoke in front of the UN. For these and other humanitarian and advocacy efforts, Smith has been nominated four times for a Nobel Peace Prize. Akrit Jaswal is a young Indian who has been called the world’s smartest boy and it’s easy to see why. His IQ is 146 and is considered the smartest person his age in India?a country of more than a billion people.
Akrit came to public attention when in 2000 he performed his first medical procedure at his family home. He was seven. His patient?? a local girl who could not afford a doctor?? was eight. Her hand had been burnt in a fire, causing her fingers to close into a tight fist that wouldn’t open. Akrit had no formal medical training and no experience of surgery, yet he managed to free her fingers and she was able to use her hand again.
He focused his phenomenal intelligence on medicine and at the age of twelve he claimed to be on the verge of discovering a cure for cancer. He is now studying for a science degree at Chandigarh College and is the youngest student ever accepted by an Indian University.

She holds the record for being the youngest artist that performed live for two hours in front of a large audience, the highest paid young artist, the youngest artist to receive an MTV award and the youngest artist to score a #1 hit in a country (Ghita in Romanian Singles Chart).
5. Aelita Andre: The 2-year-old artist who showed her paintings in a famous gallery
The abstract paintings of emerging artist Aelita Andre have people in Australia’s art world talking. Aelita is two (the works were painted when she was even younger). Aelita got an opportunity to show her paintings when Mark Jamieson, the director of Brunswick Street Gallery in Melbourne’s Fitzroy, was asked by a photographer whose work he represented to consider the work of another artist. Jamieson liked what he saw and agreed to include it in a group show.
Jamieson then started to promote the show, printing glossy invitations and placing ads in the magazines Art Almanac and Art Collector, featuring the abstract work. Only then did he discover a crucial fact about the new artist: Aelita Andre is Kalashnikova’s daughter, and was just 22 months old. Jamieson was shocked and embarrassed but decided to proceed with the exhibition anyways.

A rabbi’s son, Saul Aaron Kripke was born in New York and grew up in Omaha in 1940. By all accounts he was a true prodigy. In the fourth grade he discovered algebra, and by the end of grammar school he had mastered geometry and calculus and taken up philosophy. While still a teenager he wrote a series of papers that eventually transformed the study of modal logic. Fabulous Fabiano is a 16-year-old chess Grandmaster and chess prodigy with dual citizenship of Italy and the United States.
On 2007 Caruana became a Grandmaster at the age of 14 years, 11 months, 20 days?? the youngest Grandmaster in the history of both Italy and the United States. In the April 2009 FIDE list, he has an Elo rating of 2649, making him the world’s highest ranked player under the age of 18.
9. Willie Mosconi: Played professional Billiards at age 6
William Joseph Mosconi, nicknamed??Mr. Pocket Billiards was a American professional pocket billiards (pool) player from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Willie’s father owned a pool hall where he wasn’t allowed to play, but Willie improvised by practicing with small potatoes from his mother’s kitchen and an old broomstick. His father soon realized that his son was a child prodigy began advertising challenge matches, and though Willie had to stand on a box in order to reach the table, he beat experienced players many years his senior.
In 1919, an exhibition match was arranged between six-year old Willie and the reigning World Champion, Ralph Greenleaf. The hall was packed, and though Greenleaf won that match, Willie played very well launching his career in professional billiards. In 1924, at the tender age of eleven, Willie was the juvenile straight pool champion and was regularly holding trick shot exhibitions.
Between the years of 1941 and 1957, he won the BCA World Championship of pool an unmatched fifteen times. It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80’s arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.
I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.
While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health.
He told me that sh e had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer’s Disease.
As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now. I was surprised, and asked him, ‘And you still go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?’
He smiled as he patted my hand and said,
‘She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.’
I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, ‘That is the kind of love I want in my life.’ True love is neither physical, nor romantic.
True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

''దీన్ని గుడ్డలిప్పడంగా ఎందుకు భావిస్తున్నారో నాకు అర్థం కాలేద''ని. అర్థమైతే మహాత్ముడు- అర్థం కాకపోతే అద్వాని!
మనం అవతలిదేశంతో ఎలా వ్యవహరిస్తున్నాం, అవతలి దేశం మనతో ఎలా ఉంటోందన్నది దౌత్యంలో ప్రాథమికం, ప్రధానం. ఏకపక్ష గౌరవాలు, మర్యాదలు ఇచ్చేది సామంత రాజ్యమవుతుందే తప్ప సార్వభౌమ రాజ్యం కాలేదు. రక్షణ మంత్రిగా ఉన్నప్పుడు అమెరికాలో రెండుమార్లు తన గుడ్డలూడదీసిన వైనాన్ని ఫెర్నాండెజ్ ఏనాడో పూసగుచ్చారు. విప్రో నిర్మాత అజీమ్ ప్రేమ్జీ, నటుడు కమల్హాసన్ సైతం ఇలా ఏదోరకంగా అవమానాలకు గురైనవారే. కాబట్టి ముంబాయిలో సినిమా షూటింగ్కోసం వచ్చిన ఏంజెలినా జోలి దేహరక్షకులే మనల్ని, మన జాతీయతను అవమానించారని బాధపడటం వ్యర్థం! ఉప ప్రధాని, రక్షణమంత్రి పదవుల్లోని వ్యక్తులనే పట్టించుకోని దేశంలోని వ్యక్తులు... ఆఫ్టరాల్, ముంబాయిలో ఓ స్కూలు పిల్లల్ని, వాళ్ళ అమ్మాబాబుల్ని సహేతుకంగా, సవినయంగా గౌరవిస్తారన్నదే వేరూ మొదలూ లేని ఆలోచన. అగ్రరాజ్యం నాయకత్వం తన పౌరులకు శాంతిసౌభ్రాత్రాలు, మానవతా విలువలు, సమానత్వ సూత్రాల స్ఫూర్తిని ఉగ్గుపాలలోనో సీసాపాలలోనో కలిపి పట్టిందనే వెర్రి నమ్మకాలెవరికీ లేవు. మిగతా ప్రపంచంలో అర్భకులు, అంగుష్ఠమాత్రులు మాత్రమే ఉంటారన్న భావన అక్కడి మనుషుల్ని కనిపించనివ్వనంత ఎత్తున అమెరికా నాయకత్వంలో మేటవేసి ఉన్నప్పుడు... ఆ దేశంలోని పౌరులందరిలో ప్రజాస్వామిక, మానవతా విలువలు హిమనదాల్లా ప్రవహించాలన్నదే దుస్వప్నం. ఇరాక్లో ఇరాకీలు, ఆఫ్ఘనిస్థాన్లో ఆఫ్ఘనీలు మాదిరే ఇండియాలో ఇండియన్లూ తమకన్నా తక్కువ జాతివారనే భావం కలగబట్టే మనదేశంలోనే మనం 'బ్లడీ ఇండియన్స్!'

ఏంజెలినా జోలి దేహరక్షకుల్లో ముగ్గురిమీద మన పోలీసులు కేసులు పెట్టేసినమీదట... ఇండియాలో చట్టం తనపని తాను చేసుకుపోతోందని విదేశాల్లో ఎవరైనా భ్రమపడితే వాళ్ళ ఖర్మ. ఏకంగా ఓ విమానం వేసుకొచ్చి మన దేశంలో ఆయుధాల బోషాణాలు జారవిడిచి అదృష్టం బాగోక దొరికిపోయిన విదేశీయుల్ని మన ఘన జన సర్కారు ఏం చేసింది? మొహమాటపడి వదిలేసింది. ఏదో రష్యా, లాత్వియా, బ్రిటన్ లాంటి దేశాల నాయకులు మాటవరసకు అడగ్గానే శత్రువుల్ని, కుట్రదారుల్ని కూడా వదిలేసిన మన ప్రభుత్వాలు... అందచందాల అమెరికన్ తార దేహరక్షకుల్ని చట్టానికి పట్టించి జైల్లో పెట్టిస్తారా? ఉపప్రధాని, రక్షణమంత్రి వస్త్రాపహరణకు గురైతేనే పొడుచుకురాని రోషం... మన బడిపిల్లల్ని, వాళ్ళమ్మానాన్నల్ని అన్నంతనే ఎగదన్నుకు వస్తుందా? ఆ ముగ్గుర్నీ వదిలేయండని అగ్రరాజ్యం అధ్యక్షులవారు అడక్కపోయినా బేఫరవా! అమెరికానుంచి ఎవరు ఫోన్ చేసినా క్షణమాలస్యం చేయకుండా ఆపని కానివ్వాలనే నిర్ణయం ఇప్పటికే తీసుకోలేదని ఎవరు చెప్పగలరు? గాంధీపుట్టిన దేశంలో మహోన్నత జాతిని నిర్మించలేని మన నాయకుల్ని ఈ దేశంలో ప్రజలు అనగలిగిందేమిటి..?
ధర్మబద్ధ జీవన దిక్సూచి... భగవద్గీత
గీత అంటే గానం చేసినదని అర్థం. భగవంతుడే స్వయంగా గానం చేసింది కనుక భగవద్గీత అయింది. 'గీతా' అని అన్నప్పుడు బహువచన అర్థం వస్తుంది. దీన్ని అనుసరించి చూస్తే భగవద్గీతలోని ప్రతి అధ్యాయమూ ఒక గేయంగా చెప్పవచ్చంటారు పెద్దలు. పలు అధ్యాయాలు ఉన్నాయి కనుక ఇలా 'గీతా' అనడం కూడా కనిపిస్తుంది. ఒకరు మరొకరికి చెప్పిన మంచి మాటలు అన్నది చాలాచోట్ల కనిపించే అర్థం.గీత అంటే ఒక్క భగవద్గీతే కాదు చాలారకాల గీతలున్నాయి. భారతంలోను, భాగవతంలోను దాదాపు పన్నెండు దాకా హంసగీత, బ్రాహ్మణగీత, భ్రమరగీత, శ్రుతిగీత లాంటి గీతలున్నాయి. అయితే గీత అన్న శబ్దం చెవిన పడగానే అందరి కళ్లముందు ప్రత్యక్షమయ్యేది భగవద్గీతే.
భగవద్గీత- శ్రీకృష్ణపరమాత్ముడు యుద్ధరంగం మధ్యలో అర్జునుడికి చేసిన హితోపదేశమిది. అర్జునుడు నేను యుద్ధం చెయ్యను, బంధువులను చంపడం మహాపాపం కదా! అని అన్నాడు. అప్పుడు శ్రీకృష్ణుడు... 'ఇది నీ కర్తవ్యం. యుద్ధం చెయ్యక తప్పదు' అంటూ అర్జునుడు ఎందుకు యుద్ధం చేయాలో విడమరిచి చక్కగా బోధించాడు. అర్జునుడి చేత యుద్ధం చేయించి ధర్మానికి విజయం చేకూర్చిపెట్టాడు. శ్రీకృష్ణుడు అర్జునుడిని ఎన్నిరకాలుగా ఉత్సాహపరచాలో అన్నిరకాలుగా విషయాన్నంతా విడమరిచి చెప్పి యుద్ధానికి సన్నద్ధం చేశాడు. యుక్తితో కొన్ని ఉదాహరణలతో భగవద్గీతను కృష్ణభగవానుడు అర్జునుడికి చెప్పాడు. అంత శక్తివంతమైనది భగవద్గీత.
అయితే ఇక్కడ కొంతమంది శ్రీకృష్ణుడు హత్యాకాండను ప్రేరేపించాడని అనవసరమైన అపవాదును చేస్తుంటారు. ధర్మం ఎంతో సూక్ష్మమైనది. దాన్ని దేశకాలమాన పరిస్థితులకు అనుగుణంగా అన్వయించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఈ విషయాన్ని మరిచిపోయి కృష్ణుడు చేసిన గీతోపదేశాన్ని యుద్ధప్రేరకంగా భావించడం మంచిది కాదన్నది పండితుల, పరిశోధకుల భావన. దీనికి ఒక న్యాయాధికారిని ఉదాహరణగా పండితులు చెబుతుంటారు. ఎదురుగా ఉన్నది బంధువులు కదా, వారిని ఎలా సంహరించటం? అనే సందేహం అర్జునుడికి కలిగింది. న్యాయాధికారి హంతకుడికి మరణదండన విధిస్తుంటాడు. ఆ సమయంలో నేరస్థుడు తనకు సమీప బంధువనీ, అతడికి మరణదండన ఎలా విధించగలననీ న్యాయాధికారి అనుకుంటే అతడు సరిగా న్యాయం చేసినట్లుకాదు. పక్షపాతబుద్ధి లేకుండా నేరస్థుడు బంధువైనా, మరొకరైనా శిక్షను అమలుచేయటంలో చిత్తశుద్ధితో ప్రవర్తించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఇలాంటి బుద్ధినే గీతోపదేశం చేసి అర్జునుడిలో కలిగించాడు శ్రీకృష్ణుడు. స్వ, పర భేదంలేక దుష్టులను శిక్షించడం ఉత్తమ క్షత్రియుడి కర్తవ్యమని బోధించాడు. ధర్మమనేది వ్యక్తిపరంగాకాక నిస్పక్షపాతంగా ఉండాలన్నాడు. రాగద్వేషాలకు అతీతంగా వ్యవహరించాలన్నాడు. నీతిబాహ్యులైనవారిని శిక్షించకపోతే సమాజానికి చేటనేది కృష్ణుడి ఉపదేశంలో మనకందే సందేశం. అలా చేయకపోతే సంఘ వ్యవస్థ చెడిపోతుంది. దేశరక్షణ కోసం ఉన్న సైనికులు శత్రుసేనలు చొచ్చుకొస్తున్నప్పుడు అహింస అంటూ కూర్చుంటే సమంజసంగా ఉండదు. వారు చేస్తున్నది దురాక్రమణ కనుక ఎదురు నిలిచి వారిని సంహరించాల్సిందే. కౌరవులు కూడా న్యాయాన్ని అతిక్రమించారన్నది అప్పటికే ప్రపంచమంతా తెలిసిన విషయం. కృష్ణుడు ఎన్నో సందర్భాల్లో దుర్యోధనుడి అన్యాయాలను కళ్ళారా చూశాడు కూడా. అందుకే అర్జునుడిని యుద్ధం చెయ్యమని ఉపదేశించాడు.
శ్రీకృష్ణుడు మామూలు మనిషికాదు, ఆయన పరమాత్మ అని అప్పటికే ఎన్నో సందర్భాల్లో రుజువైంది కూడా. సాక్షాత్తూ దైవమే వచ్చి చెప్పిన మాట ఏనాడూ అధర్మంగా ఉండదు. ఈ ఒక్క విషయాన్ని మనసులో ఉంచుకున్నా భగవద్గీత యుద్ధాన్ని ప్రేరేపించిన ఉపదేశం కాదని, సర్వమానవాళి శ్రేయస్సును దృష్టిలో ఉంచుకుని చెప్పిందేనని అవగతమవుతుంది. ఈ భగవద్గీతలో మానవజాతికి ప్రతినిత్యం ఎదురయ్యే నైతిక, ఆధ్యాత్మికపరమైన ధర్మసందేహాలకు సంబంధించిన సమాధానాలు ఉన్నాయి. వాటినన్నిటినీ వివరంగా తెలుసుకుంటే చక్కటి ధర్మబద్ధమైన జీవితాన్ని గడపడానికి వీలుంటుంది. భగవద్గీతలో భగవత్ తత్వం, భగవత్ ప్రాప్తి మార్గాల వివరణ ఉంది. భగవద్గీతలో జ్ఞాన, కర్మమార్గాల్లో ఏది విశిష్టమైనది అనేదానికి సమాధానంగా రెండింటికీ భేదం లేదని, ఎంతటి జ్ఞాని అయినా కర్మ చేయక తప్పదని, అయితే ఫలాపేక్ష లేకుండా చేసే కర్మకు దోషం ఉండదని చెప్పిన సమన్వయం కనిపిస్తుంది. ఇలా భగవద్గీత మానవాళికి ఒక మార్గదర్శకంగా వెలుగొందుతోంది.

" నా విష్ణుః పృథివీ పతిః"- విష్ణు అంశ లేనివాడు, విష్ణువు కానివాడు రాజు కాలేడని భావం. విష్ణువు అంటే సర్వవ్యాపకుడని, రాజు విష్ణు స్వరూపుడని వేదాలు స్పష్టం చేశాయి. సింహాసనాన్నధిష్ఠించిన ప్రతివాడూ రాజు కాడు. ప్రతి రాజూ విష్ణువు కాడు. విష్ణువులా తన పాలితులు, సమాశ్రితుల హృదయసర్వంలో వ్యాపించి, వారి సకల సంక్షేమం పట్ల ఆత్మీయపూర్వక బాధ్యుడై ఉండాలి. తన ఏలుబడిలోని వారిని అహేతుక ప్రేమతో పాలించేవాడై ఉండాలి. అలాంటివాడే రాజు. అలాంటి రాజే విష్ణువు. విష్ణువు స్థితికారుడు. లోకాలను పాలించేవాడు. పోషించేవాడు. తన ఏలుబడిలోని ఏ జీవి ఆర్తితో పిలిచినా... సిరికింజెప్పడు, శంఖ చక్రములనైనా ధరింపడు, లక్ష్మీదేవి చేలాంచలమైనా వీడడు. కాచికాపాడేందుకు కదలివస్తాడు. తన పాలితులపట్ల పాలకుడికి అలాంటి ఆర్తితో కూడిన బాధ్యత ఉండాలి. పరిమితి లేని ప్రేమ ఉండాలి.
మన పూర్వ పాలకులు వేద విహిత జీవనాన్ని గడిపినవారు. చతురాశ్రమాలను అనుష్ఠానం చేసినవారు. పాలన పట్ల నిష్ఠ కలిగినవారు. ప్రజలకు, పాలకులకు మధ్య అనుబంధం వారికి తెలుసు. అనుసంధానం తెలుసు. వారు మకుటమనే ముళ్ల కిరీటాన్ని తాము ధరించి, ప్రజలకు పూలబాటగా జీవితాన్ని అంజలితో అందించినవారు. అందుకే విష్ణుస్వరూపులయ్యారు. నిజానికి వారు ప్రజలను పాలించలేదు, సేవించారు. పాలనను యజ్ఞ సమంగా భావించారు. వారు యాజ్ఞికులుగా, వారి జీవితాలను సమిధలుగా, పంచాగ్నుల మధ్య యజ్ఞంగా జీవించారు. తరించారు.
నిజానికి పాలకుడంటే ప్రజాసేవకుడు. సేవకుడు కావాలంటే శారీరక బలాఢ్యుడు అయి ఉండాలని కాదు. ఆ అవసరమూ లేదు. హృదయమున్నవాడు కావాలి. ఆ హృదయాన్ని సవ్యమైన రీతిలో వినియోగించేవాడు కావాలి. అదే హృదయాన్ని ప్రజాసేవకై ప్రజల ముందు పరిచేవాడు కావాలి. సేవ అంటే మన ఇష్టాయిష్టాలకూ, మన వీలుకూ సంబంధించింది కాదు. సేవ చేయించుకునే వారి అవసరాలకూ, వారి ఇష్టాయిష్టాలకూ సంబంధించింది. ఎదుటి వారికి దాహమేసినప్పుడే మనం నీరందివ్వాలి. మన దగ్గర నీరున్నప్పుడు కాదు. మనకు వీలున్నప్పుడు కాదు. మనకు ఇవ్వాలనిపించినప్పుడు కాదు. అదే సేవ. విష్ణుమూర్తి ప్రియసఖితో కేళీవిలాసంగా ఉన్న సమయంలో, దూర్వాసుని పిలుపునకు శేషతల్పం నుంచి దిగివచ్చి ఆయన పాదసేవ చేశాడు. గజరాజు, అన్నమయ్య, రామదాసు, సక్కుబాయి లాంటి ఎందరో భక్తులకు దాసుడై మరీ సేవ చేశాడు. స్వయంవిష్ణువైన శ్రీరాముడు రుషులకు సేవ చేశాడు. ప్రజలకు సేవ చేశాడు. పక్షులకు సేవ చేశాడు. సేవకుడు పాలకుడుగా ఉండే అవకాశం లేదు. పాలకుడు సేవకుడుగా ఉండే అదృష్టం ఉంది. ఆశ్రయించినవారికి ఏకకాలంలో సేవచేసే అవకాశమూ, వరాలిచ్చే అధికారమూ కూడా విష్ణువు తరవాత పాలకుడికే ఉన్నాయి.
విష్ణువు సర్వజగాలకూ కర్త అయివుండీ ఆ జగాల సంరక్షణార్థం వరాహమయ్యాడు. వామనుడయ్యాడు. రాముడయ్యాడు. రాధా రమణుడయ్యాడు. నరుడూ, నారసింహుడూ అయ్యాడు. ఇంకా ఏమయినా కాగలడు. విష్ణువు విశ్వ పిత. ఆది బీజం. సర్వజగాలకు తండ్రి. ఆయనలోని తండ్రికి ఉన్న ప్రేమ, బాధ్యత, ఆర్ద్రత రాజుకూ ఉండాలి. నిజానికి ఎవరికైనా తల్లి తండ్రి వేరువేరు. కానీ రాజులో తల్లిప్రేమ, తండ్రి బాధ్యత కలగలిసి కలిమి పూలచెట్టులా వెల్లి విరియాలి.
రక్షించడం, పోషించడం, వినయాది సద్గుణాలను నేర్పించడం వంటి ప్రజోపయోగకరమైన కార్యాచరణ వల్ల అయోధ్యా ప్రజలకు- వారి కన్నవారు కేవలం జన్మనిచ్చినవారుగానే మిగిలిపోయి- రఘువంశ రాజులు తల్లిదండ్రులుగా పరిఢవిల్లారు. స్వచ్ఛమైన స్వ ఆచరణే ప్రజలకు నేర్పించే పద్ధతిగా పాలించినవారు గనుకనే రఘువంశ ఏలికల ఘనకీర్తి చిరస్థాయిగా నిలిచిపోయింది.
ఆధునిక పాలకులు తాము విష్ణు స్వరూపులమన్న అంశాన్ని మాత్రమే ప్రేమతో గౌరవంతో స్వీకరించి, మిగిలిన విష్ణు విశిష్ట గుణాలన్నింటినీ గాలి కొదిలేశారు. అలాంటివారు... వారూ గాలికి కొట్టుకుపోక తప్పదు... వారెవరైనా, ఎంతటివారైనా.

The Donkey and the Dog
There was once a washer man who had a donkey and a dog. One night when the whole world was sleeping, a thief broke into the house, the washer man was fast asleep too but the donkey and the dog were awake. The dog decided not to bark since the master did not take good care of him and wanted to teach him a lesson.The donkey got worried and said to the dog that if he doesn't bark, the donkey will have to do something himself. The dog did not change his mind and the donkey started braying loudly.
Hearing the donkey bray, the thief ran away, the master woke up and started beating the donkey for braying in the middle of the night for no reason.
Moral of the story
“One must not engage in duties other than his own"
Now take a new look at the same story...
The washer man was a well educated man from a premier management institute. He had the fundas of looking at the bigger picture and thinking out of the box. He was convinced that there must be some reason for the donkey to bray in the night.. He walked outside a little and did some fact finding, applied a bottom up approach, figured out from the ground realities that there was a thief who broke in and the donkey only wanted to alert him about it. Looking at the donkey's extra initiative and going beyond the call of the duty, he rewarded him with lot of hay and other perks and became his favourite pet.
The dog's life didn't change much, except that now the donkey was more motivated in doing the dog's duties as well. In the annual appraisal the dog managed "ME" (Met Expectations) .
Soon the dog realized that the donkey is taking care of his duties and he can enjoy his life sleeping and lazing around.
The donkey was rated as “star performer". The donkey had to live up to his already high performance standards.
Soon he was over burdened with work and always under pressure and now is looking for a NEW JOB... Perhaps he should have kicked the dog in the first place, urging him to perform thru' peer pressure!!

The Elephant And The Fly
A disciple and his teacher were walking through the forest. The disciple was disturbed by the fact that his mind was in constant unrest.
He asked his teacher, "Why most people's minds are restless, and only a few possess a calm mind? What can one do to still the mind?"
The teacher looked at the disciple, smiled and said, "I will tell you a story. An elephant was standing and picking leaves from a tree. A small fly came, flying and buzzing near his ear. The elephant waved it away with his long ears. Then the fly came again, and the elephant waved it away once more."
This was repeated several times. Then the elephant asked the fly, "Why are you so restless and noisy? Why can't you stay for a while in one place?"
The fly answered: "I am attracted to whatever I see, hear or smell. My five senses pull me constantly in all directions and I cannot resist them. What is your secret? How can you stay so calm and still?"
The elephant stopped eating and said, "My five senses do not rule my attention. Whatever I do, I get immersed in it. Now that I am eating, I am completely immersed in eating. In this way I can enjoy my food and chew it better. I rule and control my attention, and not the other way around."
Upon hearing these words, the disciple's eyes opened wide and a smile appeared on his face. He looked at his teacher and said, "I understand! If my five senses are in control of my mind and attention, then my mind is in constant unrest. If I am in charge of my five senses and attention, then my mind becomes calm."
"Yes, that's right", answered the teacher, "The mind is restless and goes wherever the attention is. Control your attention, and you control your mind."
