What the researchers say about happiness

1. Researchers found that the majority of the subjects they studied were not able to identify anything they had done recently to try to increase their happiness or life satisfaction.
Happiness can be increased by planning to be happy. Have you identified what makes you happy? This list helps you do so!
2. Researchers who studied peoples level of interest in and attention to strangers found that people who were sad spent 35 percent more time focusing on strangers who looked unhappy than on strangers who looked happy.
If you are unhappy, you tend to notice people who are unhappy too. Looking at happy people might you feel happier!
3. People become about 1 percent more likely to hold a positive image of their bodies with each year of age after forty.
As you get older, you grow more confident or more accepting of your less than perfect body. This removes a major source of unhappiness. It also help that your friends are going through the same phase and physical appearance becomes less of a competition point.
4. Those who strongly identified with their current age became 2 percent less satisfied with their lives with every passing year, while those who infrequently thought in terms of their age showed no such negative trend.
Caring less about age brings more happiness?
5. Those over fifty who showed a high degree of resistance to change were 26 percent less likely to feel optimistic about their futures.
You need to get a change in direction if you are to feel that your life is going somewhere.
6. People in their sixties and beyond who had a long-term plan to accomplish something were 31 percent more likely to report that they enjoyed their lives.
With goal setting, you get a sense of satisfaction and a feeling that you are actually using your life effectively as there is a benchmark of your progress.
7. Those who considered themselves a success were 25 percent less likely to feel anxious about their lives, 14 percent less likely to be selfish, and 45 percent more likely to say they enjoyed their lives.
Everyone’s definition of success is different. What is yours?
8. Recent retirees were 15 percent more likely to be happy than those of a similar age who continued working full-time, but within six months retirees happiness fell behind that of those of a similar age who were working if the retirees did not have an active lifestyle.
Again, everyone needs something to do to feel their self worth. Without work, how do you ascertain your self work? Volunteering or part time jobs certainly help. Having an active online lifestyle does help too.
9. Those who said they regularly took notice of something beautiful were 12 percent more likely to say they were satisfied with their lives.
This is really good. Why not start today. Change your desktop wallpaper to something is looks beautiful. Scenery usually helps.
10. Studies have shown that each additional enjoyable activity that people over fifty engage in per month increases their likelihood of life satisfaction by 2 percent.
Active body = active mind = happiness. It’s that simple. Happiness comes through action.

About Dreams

Dreams are really what you choose them to be. Although nobody seems to have come up with any more than good theories, dreams are one of those things that many people have figured out enough on an empirical basis to put them to good use.
Here’s another way of thinking about it in a scientific way: Scientists know a lot about Quantum Mechanics, for example. They have theories about it and have put it to good use for a variety of electronic devices. But when it gets down to brass tacks, Quantum Mechanics is really just a convenient working model which may be wholly inaccurate if we were able to know more about the underlying rules. Physicists argue about super strings and other possibilities, but when you dig too deep, things literally begin to fall about due to observation.
Dreams are like this. I imagine that if you put them under the microscope somehow, examining neurons and synapses with Scanning Tunneling Microscopes or some large scale Quantum Detector, we’d likely “collapse the waveform” altogether in a Quantum Mechanical sense.
For now, the question of “Why we Dream” probably is less important than the fact that most of us dream and there seems to be some real practical value in it unless the person is plagued by nightmares. Psychology aside, many people get results (Thomas Edison for example) because of REM Sleep and dreams, so were scientists to study the capabilities of the dream state, perhaps we’d be able to move forward with something more concrete.

THE MIND,ONE OF ITS OWN….

THE MIND IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF OUR PERSONALITY.
IT IS AN EXPRESSION OF OUR CONSCIOUSNESS.
THE STOMACH IS HUNGRY BUT THE HUNGER IS FELT THROUGH THE MIND,AND THE MOTIVATION FOR APPEASING HUNGER BY EATING FOOD ALSO COMES FROM THE MIND.
AS YOU GO ON EATING AT ONE STAGE YOU FEEL SATISFIED AND YOU?STOP EATING.
THIS ACTION IS ALSO PROMPTED BY MIND.
THE MIND IS INDEPENDENT OF THE BODY,THOUGH CONNECTED TO IT.
IT SEEMS TO BE ENCASED IN THE BODY BUT IT HAS DEEPER SIGNIFICANCE AND INFLUENCE.
IT IS THE CREATOR OF YOUR CONTENTMENT OR DISCONTENTMENT.
IT IS THE SOURCE OF YOUR FULLFILMENT.
IT IS THE ORIGIN AS WELL AS THE TERMINUS OF YOUR INTERACTIONS.
WHEN SUCH IS ITS INFLUENCE AND POTENTIAL, SHOULD YOU NOT FIND OUT HOW THE MIND CAN BE ACCESSED AND IF NECESSARY MOLDED IN THE MOST SUITABLE MANNER?

IMPORTANT IT IS TO KNOW “THE MIND”

oUR MIND WORKS IN TWO MODES. CONSCIOUS AND SUBCONSCIOUS MODE. OUR SUB CONSCIOUS MIND IS MUCH MORE POWER FULL THAN THE CONSCIOUS MIND. IT INFLUENCES THE CONSCIOUS MIND, HOW WE THINK AND OUR BELIEF. IF THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND IS POSITIVE, IT WILL INFLUENCE THE CONSCIOUS MIND TO BE POSITIVE AND VICE VERSA. LIKE AN ICEBERG,OUR CONSCIOUS MIND IS TIP OF THE ICEBERG OF WHICH OUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND IS THE HUGE BASE UNDERNEATH OF WATER. IT IS MANY TIMES LARGER AND STRONGER THEN THE CONSCIOUS MIND.

Fear of death and birth.

We beg only from the lord for all the things. We should hesitate to beg from the other people. Liberation is obtained thro meditation and by remembering god in meditation.
We have studied in all the holy books and from all holy people that only by serving the lord, the ocean of mercy, truth is obtained. All other rituals and customs, without remembering the lord in meditation prove useless and worthless.
In company of the holy saint only the fear of death and birth is removed and sorrows get dispelled.
Nanak shahi.

THE LINK…

Spirituality is not realizing about our soul or realizing about our own self.

Spirituality is all about locating, tracing or getting attached on permanent & on continual basis with the link, which is prevailing between every soul and the so called God.

All souls and jeevs always remain connected with that God thro this link. this link is prevailing since inception of this universe and is primerly responsible for the existence of this universe.

This is a link thro which the God keeps sending energy to each and every one "He" has created, and thats how “His” creation and the universe stays  existing.

What do you say?……
